About the Event
The Art of Mindful Eating (吃在當下的藝術)
Presented by: Winy Chen, MSRD
Objectives: • Become familiar with the concept of mindful eating • Review the mindful eating cycle • Understand the components of mindful eating • Practice a mindful eating exercise

Winy Chen is a Registered Dietitian who earned her bachelor of science in Clinical Nutrition from Cornell University and her master's in Nutrition and Public Health at University of Tennessee. Winy has a unique combination of experience working with infants, children, adults and seniors. She was a clinical dietitian for Los Angles Children's Hospital and Martin Luther King Hospital for over 5 years. She later became a district dietitian for the Beach Cities Health District (BCHD), the largest preventive agency in the nation. While working at BCHD, she was at the forefront in building a healthier community for the three beach cities: Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Manhattan Beach.
Currently, Winy now owns her consulting firm that provides nutrition services to group homes, day programs, senior meal services and restaurants. She is the preferred nutrition consultant for Regional Centers, LA County Department of Public Health, and LA County Department of Mental Health. She also has a cooking school that teaches people healthy cooking.
Winy lives with her husband and two children in Palos Verdes. Her philosophy towards food and nutrition is “treat food as thy medicine,” and “eat mindfully”. Winy is highly passionate about connecting people with good food! She is enthused to teach people to prepare meals that are easy, tasty, and nutritious!
